Meet Mrs. Rowland
Hello, I am Pat Rowland, 4th grade teacher at Hamilton Central. My husband Bob and I have 3 children. Sarah is our eldest. She graduated from Clarkson University and has taught chemistry in the North Country. She is married and has 4 children that she is currently homeschooling. Joshua, our second eldest is a technical engineer at a local Syracuse company. Zach, our youngest is a talented acoustic & electrical guitar player, currently dabbling with a variety of other instruments. He currently travels with a friend around the Eastern seaboard playing 'gigs' here and there!
We make our home in Georgetown where we have a small hobby farm and live in a post-civil war home. It is a beautiful old house with a large front porch and lots of space to garden! I love flower and vegetable gardening, spending most of my summers doing that, as well as practicing calligraphy. I love to read, especially historical fiction, biographies and mysteries. I have many houseplants and have started collecting violets and orchids. I also occasionally indulge on chocolate!
I attended Buffalo State University after high school, receiving my degree in graphic arts. After years of raising a family and working as a customer service representative in an art supply firm and a medical supply company, I decided to return to school to pursue a degree in elementary education. Cortland University offers a Masters in teaching and I received my degree in 2004. I began teaching 5th grade here at HCS in 2004 and changed to 4th grade in 2008. Hamilton Central is a wonderful place to be with great students and caring parents. I am so glad to be here!
